CPaaS·Directory

How this directory is compiled.

CPaaS Directory is an independent reference covering the Communications Platform-as-a-Service market — the cloud providers that supply programmable voice, SMS, video, messaging, and adjacent APIs to developers and enterprises. We are not a CPaaS vendor, are not owned by one, and do not accept payment for inclusion or for the editorial position of a listing.

Why this exists

CPaaS is a category where the surface looks similar across vendors — every provider claims voice, SMS, omnichannel, and AI — but the underlying economics and capabilities diverge sharply. A buyer comparing Twilio against Bandwidth, or Telnyx against Sinch, needs to know which providers own carrier infrastructure, which compete on per-minute economics, which lead with enterprise contracts, and which are really developer-first APIs. This directory exists to make those distinctions legible.

Selection criteria

We list providers that:

We do not list shell entities, dormant brands without active product development, or pure resellers of another listed provider's APIs.

How we categorize

Every provider is tagged by the lanes they actually compete in, not every box they technically tick. A provider with three excellent APIs is more useful to a buyer than one with thirty average ones. The four primary lanes — voice, SMS, video, enterprise — reflect the segments where buyers genuinely shortlist competing vendors.

Editorial spotlights

A small number of listings carry an "Editor's Pick" marker on the directory grid. This designation is editorial, not paid, and reflects a combination of: longevity in the category, breadth or depth of capability, distinctive technical or pricing position, and demonstrated reliability at scale. The designation is reviewed each edition and providers can lose it as easily as gain it.

Pricing verification

Starting prices listed for each provider are sourced from each provider's public pricing pages and re-verified on a rolling 90-day basis. The figures reflect the lowest published rate for the named lane and do not include carrier surcharges, A2P registration fees, number rental, volume discounts, or contractual pricing. Final pricing should always be confirmed directly with the vendor before relying on it for procurement.

Outbound link policy

Outbound links to provider websites are rel="nofollow noopener" by default. Providers who contribute substantive data, benchmarks, or methodology that meaningfully improves the directory may earn a do-follow link per our link policy. We do not sell do-follow links.

Submissions

Providers can submit themselves for consideration via the submission form. Submissions are reviewed within 5 business days. There is no charge for inclusion. Submission does not guarantee a listing; the editorial criteria above apply.

Corrections

Found an error in a listing — a price that has changed, a feature claim that has shifted, a misattribution? Email [email protected]. We correct quickly and credit the correction at the bottom of the affected page.

Affiliate relationships

CPaaS Directory may have referral or affiliate relationships with some listed providers. Where present, these relationships are disclosed on our disclosure page and have no influence on editorial coverage, position in the directory, or the substance of provider profiles. We will not list a provider purely because of an affiliate relationship and will list providers we have no relationship with where they meet the criteria above.

Independence

This directory is editorially independent. We are not owned by, funded by, or operationally affiliated with any listed provider. Our analysis reflects our judgment about how the CPaaS market works — judgment that buyers and providers are welcome to disagree with and that we will revise as the market changes.
